Where My Heart Is

Vintage Inspired Sweet Sixteen Party

I am very excited to finally share with you Paris’ 16th birthday party which I styled a few weeks ago. HUGE thanks go to Leanne Stamatellos, our wonderful photographer who embraced my idea of a Fashion Shoot Party wholeheartedly. She worked with the girls beautifully and made them feel so at ease.

The vintage theme was so much fun to organise. I couldn’t have been happier with the end result! Thank you Leanne for photographing all the lovely details too.

♥Vintage themed piñata

The girls arrived at 3pm looking absolutely gorgeous, laden with extra outfits, accessories and shoes.

Leanne then photographed each girl in a private mini fashion shoot, while the other girls chatted (as only teenage girls can do) and typed a Birthday Message on the vintage typewriter.

The typewriter was a big hit!

♥Her friends

Don’t they all look gorgeous? I think the images above could be straight from a fashion magazine.

I overheard someone saying “I think my cheeks are hurt from smiling!” The perils of being a model!

♥The Photo Booth

The photo booth was probably the highlight for the girls. They had an absolute ball grabbing different props and being super silly!

I love the group shots in the street below. Leanne came up with many fabulous ideas. It was fun to watch.

I knew that the girls were going to love the photo shoot and have a lot of fun but I could not have ever anticipated just how much of a success it was going to be. It was the perfect choice for these sweet sixteens!

♥Mocktail Bar

When the photo shoot came to an end it was time for Mocktails and a Three-course Dinner Party.  Remember modeling is really hard work!

Do you like the raspberry and blueberry swizzle sticks I made below?

Paris’ one request for her party was that she wanted a dinner party with her friends.  David and I played chef and waiter. It was such a wonderful evening filled with the chatter and laughter of 12 teenage girls.  Oh Sweet Sixteen!

Over the next few weeks I thought I would share some of the nitty gritty of where I sourced bits and pieces and also some DIY’s plus recipes. The Prosciutto-wrapped Chicken is a recipe I just have to share

OH MY GOODNESS !! I Wish i was at this party ! Wow !!! What an awesome Mum you are. I loooovee the photoshoot. All the girls look gorgeous. And you are right, the photo booth looked like so much fun. The round white doily decoration is so pretty. Was it just a decoration or something else? Congratulations on a sensational party. Love it !! xx

The white doily decoration is actually a pinata – It was paper-mache and filled with treats for the girls. I was really pleased with how it turned out.

WOW!! What a beautiful and mature way to turn 16. So much class.
The photos are amazing – I’m sure all the girls will cherish them for years to come!

I would love to know where you found the chalk board decal you used for the menu. I’ve been wanting a nice-sized one that is still pretty for a while.

Love the swizzle sticks!! Simple yet really effective – like so much of the style for this event. Well done.
